Dissemination of Study: Water and Climate Justice in Wassa East District

Stakeholders in the water and sanitation sector were invited to an engagement session at Coconut Grove Hotel, Accra, to develop strategies on improving access to quality water supply amid climate-induced environmental risks.

The session was convened by Coalition of NGOs in Water and Sanitation, Ghana Environmental Community and Water Citizens Network with the support of End Water Poverty.

The aim of the conference was to categorize key findings from the Documentation Phase of the campaign into policy document and petition to CHRAJ. Research and Projects Director of Ghana Environmental Community, Evans Agyei Ntiamoah presented research findings to participants after an opening brief by Basilia Nanbigne of CONIWAS. Leonard Shang-Quartey moderated the discussion on key policy issues.

Mr Godwin Kuyole, a representative from CHRAJ was instrumental in contextualizing research findings into a legal framework for action. Delegates from WaterAid, Strategic Youth Network for Development and Community Water and Sanitation Agency also contributed to policy document.
